  • the heavier the driver the further the ball goes?

    Hi all,

is it true that the heavier the driver the further one can hit the ball (given that the driver is at the heaviest prior to loosing of swing speed)? I have recently came across this company who produces heavier TM usable weights, which they claim that with the heavier weights, one can add distance to their drives. Their website is www.driverweight.com

Has anyone use these products? Does a heavier driver really give you extra distance?

    any help is appreciated.

    thanks

    Hi gallen

WOW are those tungsten weights ever expensive. A 2-pack of 4 weights cost more than I paid for my BRAND NEW Callaway Big Bertha Ti 454 off of eBay. The weigths cost more than some high end OEM clubs

Will it hit longer with extra weight added to the head? YES on a mechanical robot.
If you are built like a 'gorilla' I would also say YES. For the vast majority of golfers it will probably decrease their swingspeed as a heavier driver is harder to swing fast.

Guys who want to hit it longer typically use a lighter shaft since it is difficult to find lighter heads. What is critical is the total weight of the club or driver.

Lighter Total Weight [dead weight] generally equates to Faster mph Swingspeed [and longer off the tee] unless you are in the business of selling tungsten weights to the consumer.
