I've noticed lately... especially in the LPGA... that many players have their top hand 2-3 inches below the end of the grip on their irons.
I always "knew" that a longer shaft resulted in more distance and a shorter shaft provided more control - it is like an axis.
So choking down on a 6I would allow an easier and more controlled swing to hit a ball the same distance as a 7I.
There used to be top weights that could be placed on grips, but I think they were banned. Is the choking up achieving this?
