      That's funny you mention the draw, I've been hitting big draws on par 3s as well. Maybe we're onto something..

        exactly, I've found the more noticeable draws do come on par 3's (possibly off a tee) as opposed to hitting from the deck

          That's been my experience as well... I may just tee it closer to the ground since I don't usually have issues with draws hitting off the deck.

                    I think about 2 things before starting the takeaway.
                    1. overall strain level of 3/10 - no tension or quick motions on takeaway then wait patiently for the pause at the top allowing gravity to initial the downswing.
                    2. on the takeaway allow the front heel to come off the ground - for balance and correct timing
