  • Suckiing at launch

Something funny happened today at Launch, I didn't play a lot last year and probably stopped in late September due to work and family commitments.
I would need a pro to look at my swing but it is quite possible I now SUCK at golf.
Wind was coming almost straight in and it was 3*celsius.
Hit the first few pretty good and then I was all over the place.
Hit some of there older balls that seem to have very shallow dimples.
Was trying a new driver too, so if anyone wants to chime in and talk me off the ledge please
Really looking forward to Myrtle Beach next week

If you are going to Myrtle Beach, don't worry, you are better off than those who pure it at Launch but not going on golf vacay anytime soon.

First time swinging the club in months my friend. This is the time to knock some rust off, not perfect your high draw.

Dont worry about it...I went to Launch with a few guys here before my trip to Florida, and I didnt hit it that great either. It took a range session and the front nine to even START to feel a bit of a swing.

Just relax and enjoy the fact that your playing golf...the swing will come around.

          Hows that ledge now?

            Re: Suckiing at launch

I noticed some of the newer balls flew a little better, the ones with the shallow dimples would take off and then when they lost initial velocity they went any which way.
I have convinced myself that it was the Launch's fault, good thing I have a square driver.
My handicap has been rising slowly over the last 5 years, hey wait a minute my kid's are 3 and 5? Could that have something to do with it?

My plan this year is to practice the short game any chance I get. My work takes me all over South Western Ontario so I can always hit a bucket of wedges or do some putting.
I like the range at Copetown, ay others that are not too far off the beaten path between hear and Windsor?

I prefer not to play at all in the winter...just not the same. Same with baseball. I have friends who hit the indoor cages all the time, but the one winter I joined them was followed by my worst summer of ball ever.

I just sit on my carcass and play hockey in the winter now.

The ledge is wider now Thanks!
I'm thinking a headwind that's slightly right to left is not a big help either.

If your ever on the 401/6 South around noonish, you could always join me at Vic East for a basket. Only about 10 minutes off the highway.

Dont be afraid to go after that puppy! I find I can go as hard as I want with the Matrix and it always hold up. Even after leaving my shoes behind on the Tee Box!

                    is it a nice range?
Does it have a short game area?
I go to the one on Hwy 6 below the 401 near Dundas, is that the one?

It does have a half decent range with a couple of flags set at 50-75yds depending on where the hitting area is set, and the other is 100yds typical.

They also have a short game area that not everybody is aware of as its down past the first fairway. They have a chipping area and a couple of bunkers.

I NEVER swing driver well there, EVER. Also, they should be ashamed to have people pay to use the balls that they have there. I went the other day because a friend hadn't been there before, disgusting the shape most where in. So smooth you'd think it just washed up on shore.

I hadn't been in a couple of years, I thought the place looked pretty run down.
