This is great....his interview from 2008 proclaiming his

What was the story with Tiger's Buddhism bracelet?

    By Jay Busbee
Follow Jay Busbee on Twitter at @jaybusbee.
At the end of Sunday night's Golf Channel interview with Tiger Woods, interviewer Kelly Tilghman made note of the bracelet Woods wore on his left wrist. From the official transcript:
KT: I noticed you're wearing a bracelet, can we see it?
    TW: Yeah.
    KT: What does it mean?
TW: It's Buddhist, it's for protection and strength and I certainly need that.
KT: When did you start wearing it?
TW: Before I went into treatment.
KT: Will you be wearing it during the Masters?
    TW: Absolutely.
KT: For the rest of your life?
    TW: Absolutely.
(View the interview in its entirety here at The Golf Channel.)
The bracelet itself isn't the big deal; you can pick one of those up at the mall for five bucks (Amazon has hundreds of "Buddhist bracelets" for those who want to be like Tiger.) It's what the bracelet represents -- the idea of remembering one's "core values" -- that makes it significant.
Certainly, it's not uncommon for people embroiled in scandal to suddenly wrap themselves in religion as a way of deflecting criticism. Prisoners and politicians alike often turn to religion when their worldly deeds come crashing down around them. So it's understandable to view Woods' embracing of Buddhism, Sunday and at his Feb. 19 press conference, as a
    cynical ploy for sympathy.

Thing is, Woods publicly professed his connection to Buddhism long before the scandal broke. In a May 2008 Reuters interview shortly after the birth of his second child, Woods noted that he adhered to tenets of Buddhism such as meditation:
"I practice meditation -- that is something that I do, that my mum [sic] taught me over the years. We also have a thing we do every year, where we go to temple together," he said. "In the Buddhist religion you have to work for it yourself, internally, in order to achieve anything in life and set up the next life. It is all about what you do and you get out of it what you put into it. So you are going to have to work your butt off in every aspect of your life."
And as he admitted Sunday, he's got plenty of work ahead.
Also, the conspiracy-minded -- or those with too much time on their hands -- will note that Woods doesn't have a wedding ring on, and will surely scream that it's the sign of marital apocalypse. Not so, at least not based on that alone. Tiger never wears his wedding ring on the golf course, and as the photo at right shows, he apparently doesn't wear it when he's out with his family, either.
That photo is from last year's Cal-Stanford game, taken just days before the news of his initial affair broke. Tiger got roundly booed at that game, but it was because he was a Stanford alum, not for any other reason. No, the really bad news for Tiger was still a few days away. Hopefully, for the sake of his family and his golf game, the worst days are now behind him.

Best part: Sure the kid was crying now they all are!!!!

"This morning Sam was crying when I left. That is only going to get harder, especially when they start talking, when they get in school," he said, adding that golfers find it particularly tough to carry out their roles as fathers.
"A lot of guys, early on in their child's development, try to take them on the road with them so they can be a part of that development - but once they are in school it is a whole different story then," he said.

You gotta just laugh yourself when your reading this how many he was doing at the time then coming and doing these interviews with a straight face. Like the last interview a couple of days before the story broke of how important his family life is so much more above his golf game now.......

For those who said he never lied!!!!

OK, he was a Buddhist before, and is still a Buddhist now....
...is your point that Buddhist's would never cheat on their wives and would never be sex addicts!?
Every great idea starts out as a blasphemy

My point was that he said in the interview quote below:

Woods answered, "Going against your core values and losing sight of them. I quit meditating. I quit being a Buddhist. And my life changed, upside down. I felt I was entitled, which I never felt before, and consequently I hurt many people."

He started his slutting around before the birth of his first child right up until the caught date of November 2009 . As in one text message he had to go home family problems or in another he had a family matter and that was the birth of his children it turns out. So through (at least we know from the texts) at least 5 years that he was doing this for according to text messages and skanks coming out (which has he seems to acknowledged so far, as no one sued these girls or attacked them for incorrect information) he was lying. Then during this interview while he was such a devoted father and husband he seemed to be lying to all.....No I don't think buddhist's cheat on their wives to confirm that too. I also don't think his mother thought so. I also don't think practising buddhism you would look kindly on adultery or what be the point now of practising it and meditating to clear your sins as he is supposedly now doing. Now read the articles and laugh like hell because he is a joke.

          why so surprised ....

he is a Narcissist , more specifically he has been referred by some as an unprincipled narcissist - wiki defined as a charlatan - is a fraudulent, exploitative, deceptive and unscrupulous individual

they lie, they cheat they decieve for their own benefit

unlike the sex addiction which is an acting out or a symptom of the personality trait and for which he is being treated in rehab for

Narcissism, is his is a deep rooted and ingrained personality trait/disorder that is not easily treated if it can be at all.

they dont accept failure well at all ( we have seen how he responds to losing even though it is rare) and is one of the reasons he is so driven to succeed, this fear of failure.

Tiger's admitted fear and anxiety regarding his acceptance and performnace at the Masters may very well be genuine.

bottom line , despite what you see and hear , dont expect Tiger's real personality to change easily if at all

He certainly appears to have lied in his "interviews" on the weekend when he said none of his staff had any knowledge of what was going on. It was well documented that his assistant Brian was the one who arranged for all of Rachel's travel plans to Australia.

He admitted he lied in the past and that he felt entitled. Therefore, why believe him now.

He says there were no PED's during the period when he was lying and felt entitled and when normal rules didn't apply to him. Ummmm, okay....I'll buy that. [/sarcasm]

Seems like the guy is a textbook sociopath.

I don't understand why everyone is making such a big deal about this... i would make a bet that 90% of all professional athletes cheat on their wives or girlfriends. How many times can you say no to a gorgeous woman before giving in. Tiger gave in and thats what most pro athletes do, they are on the road and they have these beautiful women approaching them. I think that the reason this is so big is because golf is a gentelmenly sport and it goes against that. Tiger is just like all the other pro athletes
