They can't get normal employees at some stores that are capable, let alone hire out. A better bet would be to just pay an employee to take the sets to another location that isn't busy (ie. Milton for the Hamilton/Burlington/WC stores). Work gets done and someone can go pick them up a few days later.

If you can't replace a set of grips, you probably shouldn't be working at Golftown. Just my opinion.

You do not need the apparel staff, the cashiers and the receiver to install grips. It is more efficient to have dedicated pro shop staff with a couple of back-ups. In Hamilton we have two dedicated guys with three more including me to pick up the overage when needed BUT, floor sales come first for the back-up people.

Folks have to realize that we cannot run "Jiffy Grip" during this sale where a guy walks in with a putter and wants to get ahead of 80 others.

no doubt. I don't want the girl running the cash doing my grips. And seriously, what's the rush, it's February? They could take a month and it would matter little to me. If you really need them that quickly, just do them yourself.

I never understood the rush mentality in the middle of the winter. I usually wink at them and ask if they have a tee time this afternoon. We have guys who will show up 2-3 times in the same week to get 1-2 grips done. It boggles the mind.

Re: Golftown Grip Sale - when and what?

I was just asked by our GM if I could come in an extra day, from my normal one shift to help out with all the re-grips that came in over the weekend.

In one of the stores this morning they are already taking in clubs for the grip sale. It starts tomorrow and only lasts two weeks this year.

If you want them done get in now. It used to start in February but this year it appears it will be done by then.

Thanks for the heads up - was wondering if we should start a new thread in 2017 for this as the 2016 one was beaten to death.

Better to revive this one than one from 10 years ago....

Thanks for the heads up on the event, I haven't seen anything online about it yet / received an email. Does anyone know what the discount is, or if there's a minimum number of clubs to re-grip to get the discount? Thanks

It's the grips that go on sale. Doesn't matter how many you buy. I usually buy the grips then wait until end of February or March when it dies down to have them installed

No point paying them to install them, you can get a grip kit from golfworks for peanuts and do it yourself in minutes. My wife loves when I'm still doing golf stuff at home after dark.........
