  • Anyone play Palmetto - thoughts for Masters week

Buddy and I are going down to the Masters for a Monday practice round. We're thinking of playing Palmetto while in the area. Has anyone played there and can comment on the value - it's currenlty $225 (with range and lunch).

    Cheers!

A nice experience to play there during the Masters. It is the oldest course in the South. Jones and Mackenzie got some ideas for Augusta National from it is the lore there. The place is chuck full of history. Great old photos of legendary players from the past playing tournaments there.

I've played it about 4 times. In 2002 Earl Woods was in the group behind us. Early in the week you see others from the Golf World out for a round at it. It is private all year but for the weeks around the Masters.

Not cheap but free beer with the Fee.

I'd do it again anytime I had the chance.
