That would be a cool thing to do; sadly my back won't let me carry a Sunday bag, never mind a regular golf bag.

Awesome, should be a cool experience! Had you caddied before?

Would I be allowed to use the HOV lane?

Even doctors responding to medical emergencies are not allowed to use the HOV lane. Unless there are three of them in the vehicle.

I'd love (or hate?) to hear a story of the OPP pulling over someone in a medical emergency situation and giving them a ticket.

This is a great deal. You can sit in traffic for hours trying to get there, pay for your own parking when you get there ( was an article in the paper a month ago about a lady who volunteered and found out she would have to pay her own parking ) cover your gas and maybe, just maybe if you were lucky, you might get the caddy special at the turn ( brings back memries of my childhood spent caddying at Weston in the early 70s ) And I assume no outside food or drink is permitted on the grounds )

No, I think i will take a pass on this one. But good luck to all.

Yes i have a few times at CanTour Men's, Cantour Ladies and once at ProAm Canadian Open as well as many volunteering positions at the Canadian Open. It's a lot of fun being so up close to great golf.

I have no clue where you are getting your info from, but none of what you said is accurate for caddies being in the Pan Am Games.

The Canadian Open is looking for caddies for their pro-ams (caddying for the non-pro players) on the Monday and Wednesday as well

I did actually see an article talking about this possibility, and they did point out that the officers do have discretion not to ticket, and if appropriate, even escort the person based on the criticality of the situation. I'd like to think common sense would prevail when it actually comes to enforcement.

That's great - I agree would be great to be able walk around the whole course with them and watch the shots so up close.

I'm curious, how much yardage advice do they expect you to be prepared to give? Or is it more just carry the bag, replace divots, rake bunkers, clean balls and tend pins?

You are basically to show up, keep up and shut up. I've never been expected to give yardage. Basically just carry the bag, clean the ball and tend the flag.
