    Ugh!

    I have never had it before. I had a nice warm up the other day hitting wedges progressively going through the bag to driver. Got to the tee and hit a great drive but then felt a searing pain in my right outer fore arm. I couldn't finish my round, even chips were painful. Two days later it's still quite tender. Having been icing, massaging and resting. Unfortunately my club C's are this weekend, I'm debating withdrawing as I suspect it will just get worse.

    I just changed grips to the MCC+4 With an extra wrap. I wonder if the different forearm muscles used caused the problem.

    Do a search on here for Tennis or Golfers Elbow. I remember a big thread full of good info on both short term and chronic treatment.

    Stretching, Advil, heat, and rest. Some say ice but I found wrapping my forearm in a heating pad for hours on end helped a lot. My case was chronic for years but is pretty much gone now. Once in a while I'll dig a shot out of heavy weeds or fescue and I'll feel it again but it's not nearly as bad and goes away completely in a day or two.

      I have it and its constant pain when I play. I am such a bad golfer I cannot even get Golfers Elbow !

      I went to Kinnetix Connection and got a brace. 70 bucks for the one i got. Theyhave lotsof options. Tried a shoppers drug mart one and I got what I paid for. I have not eaten an Aleve since. Instant relief. Go get one and you are winning the club championship this weekend !

        Have had it.
        Ice , rest , stretching and meds.
        Eventually went away. Slow process!

          If 8t just happened....you don't want the scar tissue start to cross hatch across it. Either get some ART done on it. Or dig your thumb right on the sore spot and keep massaging so it doesn't develop. I've found that flossing it has helped mine immensely. YouTube it.

          Ice works for the first 48 hours or so. After that you want heat and work the tendons to help the repair process.

            Bernie...order this from Amazon. I have golfer's elbow and this has worked really well for me. No issue at all when I wear it and the symptoms are subsiding. I was wearing it when we played a couple of weeks ago.

              I had it about 8 yrs ago and wore a brace similar to what Whitewalker linked to.

              Immediate relief that made it relatively comfortable to play with (+2 Ibu). Used it for about 2 months - felt funny when I finally took it off.

              I'd pay attention to what Weirfan says WRT therapy and recovery.

                How bad is it?

                I had it once from actually playing tennis. When I had it I could not lift a full pint glass of beer with my right hand, forced to drink left handed. If yours is that bad then you likely need to lay off for awhile.

                For me the only cure was rest. I stopped playing tennis and golf for 3 months and even at that I think I came back too early. Pain after 3 months was manageable but I had to change how I played for a full 6 additional months until it was completely gone.

                I know there are many thoughts out there on treatment, I still think rest and not continually reinjuring it until it heals is the best but presumably some treatment might accelerate the healing process. I did wear a forearm band when I returned to playing.

                  I had a nasty case of it in late 2014 and it persisted throughout the winter. Eventually, I went to an amazing physio who fixed the issue in one hour. It turns out that it was actually a pinched nerve in my neck between c6-c7. I'd have someone look at it just in case it isn't the classic tennis elbow.

                    The pain is not severe at the moment, simply a discomfort. I have a brace from baseball that I can use. I'm going to attempt playing in my men's night tonight. Voltaren and IBU at the ready!

                    The only discomfort at the moment is with supination and flexion of the right forearm at the same time. It's quite specific to the end of the humerus by the ulna.

                      As someone suggested ART is a great soft tissue technique that's used for conditions like golfers and tennis elbow. But having said that...I'm clearly biased

                        I have a thumper that I use on my neck from an old injury, I've been using it for 10 minutes at a time on my forearm while flexing and extending my hand. It seems to be helping. Are you a chiropractor?

                          There was another thread on here about Golfer's elbow a few years back. It helped me immensely.

                          I had pretty bad Golfer's elbow and it had persisted for some time. Not sure I can find the links but it involves a heavy rubber band from Rogue Fitness. With the help of someone else you wrap the elbow VERY tight in the band (like a tensor but much stronger and tighter) from just above the elbow joint to just below the elbow joint. Then the person helping you manipulates your elbow through a variety of flex and rotations (if you wrapped it tight enough you won't be able to bend it yourself). You can stand this for about 45 - 60 seconds. When your hand starts turning white or blue you need to get the band off.

                          It took 2 sessions of this and my pain was GONE!

                          I can't find the video right now but here are the bands. Mine are the black ones.
                          Rogue Monster bands 41" long and are the go to bands for powerlifting and mobility, speed and agility training, and more. Check them out at Rogue Fitness.


                          Might sound ludicrous but it worked like a dream and the pain has never returned.

                              Yes sir I am.

                              Be careful with the thumper as the amount of pressure you put on there can cause a bit more damage then wanted (but if it's feeling better, then who am I to stop you).

                              As for the root of the cause of the actual injury, it can come from a list of problems. But without a proper assessment, and to uphold some college standards I can't really go into diagnosing the actual problem on an internet forum. However, the change in grip size could have some small part in the problem.
