looking to book a few rounds around a Masters trip and this is one that is on the list and permits advanced booking, so looking for feedback from anyone who has played .

Of course during Masters week the green fees are double normal and approaching $200 US.

    TIA

Depending on how you are getting to The Masters, where you have decided to stay, etc., I would say there are many better options, especially at that price. The course itself isn't bad, but $200?

      Good point ,

Plan on playing on way to Augusta after landing in Atlanta , so early pm Tuesday afternoon and then on the way back to Atlanta on Thursday mid morning.

Found a couple munis that are cheaper, but can't book until 14-21 days out so a crap shoot.

Most of the other good courses, Reynolds Lake Oconee are even more expensive.

      Open to suggestions

I think University of Georgia is a great course. Reasonable green fees and advance booking allowed.

a little out of the way but looks good.
I'm told tee times Masters week can be tough to come by so would like to book one play now and take chance on getting one last minute closer to the date.
(advance booking is 1-7 days according to website.)

Harbor Club isn't bad as I said, but quite expensive. There are a lot of great courses you can play in this world for $200 and this wouldn't be one that I would pay that much to play. I'd play Forest Hills in Augusta proper (Augusta State golf team plays here) at $150 over Harbor.

Not sure how far off or on route you are looking to stay but here are some of my suggestions mostly on or just off the I-20 or a slight reroute that won't add much. Not sure which offer tee times this far in advance but I'll mention if I think they do...

            - Cherokee Run - Regular rates just $21 walking (shouldn't be too much more Masters week) and honestly the course, when I played it years ago, was like a $90 GTA course.

            - Stone Mountain Stonemont Course - $83 prime time Masters Week (Think they offer advance tee times).

            - Ashton Hills - Regular rates $37. A Desmond Murihead design which isn't super common and solid. Another course that would be much more in the GTA.

That's really all I can suggest mostly on route, but maybe it's enough considering you only need two rounds.

              I appreciate the info.

all these other courses have shortish advance booking times. anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks out.

my understanding is that its a busy time for courses So the question is ,
if I wait to the last minute and try to book a couple courses when they open up for bookings will I be able to get a tee time? we have a fairly narrow window to play each day, but certainly these courses are more reasonably priced....which also scares me re demand

I can't really answer that question and it really comes down to how much of a value it is to you to book so far in advance to guarantee. When I went down for Masters week I actually drove from and played in North Carolina and finding tee times once the window opened up was easy.

When I was in the Atlanta area, it wasn't Masters week.

FYI. We played as a foursome during Masters week and had no problem getting a tee time a week in advance at this course.

thanks. we've decided to hold off and book closer to the date as the bookings allow and play a couple of less costly but still well reviewed tracks. If worse comes to worst, I'm guessing spots will be open on some of these $200 plus courses
