I had the opportunity to play there on a Monday in September. Absolutely beautiful course with lots & lots of old money.

Pros - in Toronto and course was in excellent condition. Staff always ready to serve you.

Cons - saw a coyote walking around and was not scared of us. Also the place is expensive.

Probably best value in the city, new clubhouse, full length range, friendly membership, proshop staff is awesome. The only negative is that the putting green is slanted. Younger membership and lots of good players!

Not to sure why you say we are expensive, don't think we are much more $$$ than other clubs, we just spent just under a million last fall to pave all the cart paths, every bunker was redone and quite a few have been reshaped, a number of green surrounds were done, tree trimming etc, was at the club today and they just took the tarps off the greens and God are they green , been there approx 3 years and really enjoy the track, it's a real test of golf, that coyote will only bite if you haven't paid your dues,

All this. Cedar Brae is an awesome golf course. I could play there every day I f I wasn't already at my club. Only negative for me is where all the houses around it and clubhouse design though minor.

Played there several times and the greens have always been awesome.

Have to say that's a pretty weak list of 'cons'. Have we now on TGN resorted to naming a coyote as part of the list of Pro's and Cons.

Just Curious. Where are these phantom houses you don't like and the new awesome clubhouse? I have a suspicion you're thinking of a different course.

Lots of changes there over the years. I was a member there from 1980-2000. Parents have been and still are members for 40+ years. I enjoyed the area more when there were Less homes too....brookside was beside it but that was sold off to developers who built the surrounding homes. Just normal around the GTA with less green space and more concentration of homes. It is what it is.

Great track and condition is hard to beat anywhere. Greens In peak season and around the pro am can be crazy fast. Two great par 3's 6&16 from the blues.....

Prices have dropped dramatically over the years and is typically one of the best deals around for a private track. New clubhouse finally in after 30 years of back and forth, changing ideas, different decision makers etc....glad it's behind now!

The drive up to the course from Markham Road brings you through a sub division. I know one can drive up to Steeles and go east but for some reason the GPS directs you though that route.

You have to walk through the dining area to get to the pub/bistro if you're walking from the inside.

                    Re: Cedar Brae

Absolutely love CB. The new Clubhouse is awesome and so are the facilities.

The only thing i now miss is the pitching area which is no longer there.

The improvements to the already great golf course are noticeable.

If i was living in the East End, I would be a member there!!

I'm sorry but seeing houses as you get to a course is now a con? That's getting a bit nit picky I think.

Definitely not a con of Cedar Brae, hands down best new toilets in the GTA to sit down and pee! Plus, knowing hannah's member # always helps.

What kind of houses are they? If they are the ones with the garage in front, well that would really throw me off my game
