Default how to tell U or V grooves on irons?

Just wondering how could you tell if your irons have U grooves or V grooves?

you can make a mold-model of the groove by pressing a little plasticine into the groove and then carefully pulling it off.
The impression of the ridge will be either straight sided(U) or slightly angled(V)

Who the heck carries plasticine around with them?

You can use used chewing gum instead. Just make sure the GT store employee don't see you do it
