Just to set the record straight, I'm not a club owner. My comments were in response to the persistent whining that was going on over a very small amount of money. The final straw was hearing how some were "never going back" to a course, despite enjoying the golf. I didn't think that was fair. While I do agree that you should "get what you pay for", sometimes reason and common sense need to come into play.

I do think you have a good program for many golfers and club owners. There is a need. Also, I think your comments, here, have been quite professional. I wish you all the best in expanding your program to appreciative golfers and club owners alike.

I dont want to start a whole war with you all over again..but to read your chiming in..yet again with contradictory points...within your own comments...is insulting.
If I am told verbally and in writing when buying a product/svc that I will get ___ and a course arbitrarily chooses to make a concious decision to not give me what i paid for.....you insult me and others loyal to priv play with your 'whining' comments.
Especially when one of your next lines is that you agree we should get what we pay for. Then infer we slink away and accept less than promised from a course...or we are 'unappreciative ' if we comment we didnt get it.

Do u realize how small monetarily that discount was when i played st andrews? U argue that it is so small i should slink away..stop whining..i argue that i paid for it, course agreed in writing and should stop whining on the small discount in discussion.
When it leaves a bad taste and i say i would not go back, no $ on f&b (although we bought 3 rounds for our foursome that day=12 beers)..no $ on soft goods (although i bought a half jacket Footjoy on sale)...this all will not be a return visit. I am called whining because me and other priv play members are in your mind sulky and whining ..when i see it as a economy of courses with excess inventory...and declining golf participation..so the high volume 50+ round players like me/us will decide where we spend our $ next season. Someone who is willing to save in short term $ by not following program is going to lose $$$ long term.
Insulting terms like whiners etc when even u admit we should "get what we paid for" is disgusting.
LAst note..i never played cardinal in my life...invited by tgnr about a mth ago..i checked in with already a great advertised gfee and expected a st andrews treatment, but mentioning i had the priv play got me added discounts. The overall friendly treatment, good value and first round there..had me leave with a glowing overall impression of a course i skipped over...from age 19 to 43...while living in the gta...and now will be a favourite.
Now how much was that extra couple bucks worth to them????????????
