Default Ping Eye 2 Beryllium Copper Irons

I have a set of these - orange dots. Everyone keeps telling me these are antiques and I should hold on to them. Is this true?

I'm playing with them now - they were reshafted 3 years back. They've been very good to me but I'd like to try something else.

Does anyone know what are they worth? A guy I got paired up with at Whirlpool offered me $600 for the set right then and there but I wasn't sure if he was serious or not. And of course, I had no intention of getting a new pair.

Anyhow, I was looking around at some new clubs at golftown in the $600-$800 range for a set of irons.

What would you guys do? Sell them to offset the cost of the new clubs or hold on to them?

They are classics, if they've been good to you it might be worth while holding onto them. The $600 that was offered to you was a very fair offer. Might be hard pressed to get that again - but of course the better the condition the higher a price you can get.

thanks for the reply ...

if $600 is a fair price, i have to feel lucky these were handed down to me and will probably clean them up and sell them. it's just too much money to pass up on.

cool thanks!

How/Where did you sell them? Online? Ebay?

Can anyone suggest the best place to sell clubs?

Agree, the BST might see some action for these - as Ping will no longer bend them, the orange dot will have to coincide with what the buyer is looking for.

very true. It fairly brittle stuff when compared to Pings stainless heads and adjusting the loft and lie takes some care since there are no replacements in stock.
