In my swing I double wrist cock. It is very similar to what you see with a player like John daily or Fred couples. The problem fr me is that i cast the golf club coming down. This obviously makes me come Ito the ball with a cupped lead wrist. Does a double wrist cock have something to do with a early release?

Try hitting balls back further in your stance. Make sure your shoulders are square to your target line.

I think you had better explain your issue a little better. 'Double wrist cock' is a rather odd term and the best I understand you saying is you cock them going back and then increase the angle again coming down, which does not fit your use of the term 'cast'.

Do you mean both wrists hinge straight up?
As in the back wrist does not bend back toward the fore arm... So you have no angle towards the fore arm?

Can we assume it's the glove hand cocking up Plus the glove wrist bending/extending?
Try getting the wrist flat on the downswing with a feeling of closing the face but it would completely depend on your rhythm. |

I am doing exactly what the picture of sadlowski is doing( I assume that is sadlowski). Yes....thats what I mean by double wrist action. I guess It should be called wrists overhinging. This makes me cast on the downswing. It is not a cast straight from the top. It is just gradual but it makes me come into the ball with a cupped lead wrist which is not what a good player would do.

See how long he holds on to his lag. And then is able to release it at the right moment. The guy has crazy strong wrists. Unless you can have a downswing line Saldowski's, I suggest you minimize the amount you hinge the club.

Wow- I'd never seen Sadlowski's swing before. That is the craziest swing I've ever seen

I was thinking about this recently as well
If you bend at straight up the wrist, you would be coming back down with a chopping "ax" motion wouldn't you? And wouldn't that also tend to create a bit of a outside-in swing? |

Try it - get to the top, feel like youre going to chop a block of wood just outside your trail ankle, and then with a little turn toward the target, you'll see how it works |

I even put an empty bucket there, in an attempt to hit down on it. That slide and rotation automatically (not sure if this the right description but)squares the club to the ball. |

The golf part is more of a motion that everyone can do a little differently.
Early chop and late turn will give you the most shallow and inside out club path. Early turn and late chop will give you the steepest and most outside in club path. In case you meant the other part, Bryan has the right action for the wood chop. |
