First Ace in a Tourney I have witnessed

Played in a Tourney yesterday at Bondhead North, and a member of my foursome dropped an Ace on the 16th hole. The hole had a sign to win a trip to the French Lick in Indiana.
It was kind of strange as they had no spotters for the hole. I wonder just what he has actually won?

They had another par 3...number 11... naturally, to win $10,000 for an ace, with 2 spotters....

Having a spotter(s) is a legal requirement for the insurance, but $10Gs would've been sweeter than a trip to Indiana. Hell, I would've taken $5. And anyone with some intelligence should be able to tell if you guys are telling the truth about the ace (to win the trip). Not saying you aren't, but strange to not even have one volunteer on that hole.
