Notice the shaft bend on KS's impact? The shaft has been completely unload before hitting the ball. I'm extremely surprised he's not pulling duck hooks with that and even more surprised he's smacking it 290.
    Sigh..... Early release... Never good...

@pingnut I think your missing the point of my post.. We are comparing those 2 swings.. Not arguing if extension past impact is proper or not..

I'm getting the feeling around here that many are convinced there is only one way to hit a ball and hit it long.

But I'll step back and let you boys go on for another 8 pages

Sheesh...tough crowd on this thread......people are posting pictures to compare your swing, constant criticism from every angle.....you just can't win.

I would go to trackman, take a picture of your numbers and post it here.

The range I go to there is a guy who used to play on the Canadian Tour. His swing is very short and smooth......he can easily hit the net (in the air) at the back of the range which is 300 yards. The guy's about 5'8, 150 pounds. For him he gets his power via forearm and hip rotation.

No we want to talk about early release now....usually happens when you are younger, but as you get older it's not as bad.

forget the trackman, forget the distance dispute. You're now getting side by side comparisons with a long hitting Tour pro with a seemingly similar build, showing the differences in the two swings, and you're complaining?? Isn't this what you wanted? If you want more consistency and more distance, get yourself in the same positions as JB Holmes in these pictures.

Unless you are posting as seemoreputts / pix40 and p25.. I wasn't responding to your post..

I remember reading on here a tip from a prominent Canadian golfer about holding your finish until the ball stopped moving - like it would have some effect on the outcome. Once the ball is gone - you could throw the club straight in the air, it's not going to change the ball flight

No I do and It is greatly appriciated but from what I read here I Have to swing like 6 different pros to hit 290. It's getting confusing.

While this is true, the finish does say a lot about the swing that preceeded it.
For example, if you can't hold a balanced finish, odds are you were out of balance during your swing, and an out of balance swing is less than optimal.
