  • Future Sites of the RBC Open

With 2014 in Montreal, where should the be held in 2015, and just to note 2016 is going to be tricky because the Olympics are in August and it will be close to the British Open. And Nutz what about 2017 and 2018? What course should or like to see the Open there?

Not that they get to choose but a lot of the players liked Hamilton.

Coppinwood's only problem is logistics. It would be a great test though. Mississaugua GC would be a solid choice as well.

                Back west again please!

Capilano and/or Point Grey would do well. Even Vancouver Golf Club would be fine!

Although Shaughnessy is not overly long.....IMO.....Cap, Point Grey & Vanc G&CC are just too short for the guys.

Haven't been to Cap since the 1992 World Am....I don't think the track can handle the traffic.

                    Yes....PG & VGCC hosted the 2003 & 2012 CWO very effectively.
But the prima donna guys would be whining about the small ranges at these 2 clubs too.
Where would you park the cars if Cap hosted?

I'm upset the Cdn Open is a tier B event nowadays......Shaughnessy would have a hard time hosting the crowds of a premier event with all the top pros attending.
It's hard enough to watch the 18th at Shaughnessy as it stands right now never mind a very big gallery.

I loved it at St George. It would be cool to see it at eagles nest.

+1, but it lacks a decent clubhouse.

It would be cool if the RCGA brought the Open to a public course where the average player can afford to play. They did try it by holding it at Angus Glen a couple of times, but that was due to money and politics. Plus it's a high end course. The 2007 Open should not have been at the north course, and the Davis Love controversy did not help matters.

The USGA did it by holding the US Open at Bethpage and Torrey Pines, although the greens fees for both are pretty high if you are a tourist.

Crowbush or Fox Harb'r would be interesting if the RCGA decides to go out east.

Send 'er over to The Paintbrush or Pulpit.... Haven't played them, but I know they are supposed to be awesome. Not sure if it can accommodate a million fans though?

I think the biggest problem is hosting the fans and keeping it profitable.
                              What's in my bag?

                              Putter: Scotty

~ 90% of putts left short of the hole won't go in ~
