Re: Need a Ruling
I was playing Disney Osprey and one of my playing partners pointed out the ball hit by a previous golfer. It was pretty funny.
So feeling safe is a very subjective determinant. Must a rules official be consulted to see if your safe is reasonable?
If taking relief from a hazard you must drop in a hazard.(as indicated in the video)
If taking relief from rough do I need to drop it in rough?
If taking relief from fairway do I need to drop it in fairway?
Does this not conflict with the play it as it lies rule? Surely if your ball comes to rest 40 feet up in a tree. Playing it from there would be dangerous, wouldn't it? Why not apply the rule?Last edited by Bern; Mar 16, 2010, 09:43 PM.

However, life threatening lies, like the alligator pic above, wasps nests and so on, are deemed not to be a part of the game.
