    No and no.

    But...

How about more staff to do the intelligence stuff? The French security service had been warning for a while that they did not have the resources to keep track of all the people they were watching.

We should be questioning him... but I don't see what happened in Paris as any reason to reconsider his decisions. I'm sure there are many details that I have not read about, but what exactly occurred in the failure to prevent what happened, or in the aftermath, that should cause him to reconsider.

On a side note, encryption and immigration, has become the topic du jour amongst the frenzied media. Given that the terrorists in this case were not refugees, and were not using encryption, what should we tie to them next that will change how we live in our 'free' society, or how we accept others into our part of the world.

I'm waiting for Governor Huckabee to release a statement claiming the attackers were also climate scientists.

While not exactly on the Promise Meter, I thought this was a reasonable place for this article:

I happen to agree with most of what's written here.

The election is well behind us now. How are we going to move forward, especially when both our resource and manufacturing sectors are MIA?

I'm starting to be very certain that the economy is going to give us all a s**t kick in a painful place. He's going to have a very difficult time keeping a lot of the promises without taxing the crap out of people who will really not be able to afford it. He won't be able to do that though because things will be too tough.

Harper is probably laughing that he got out just before the S**t really hits the fan.

                Re: Trudeau Promise Meter

I didn't vote for Trudeau (either of them for that matter). I knew he was lying about bringing 25K refugees from Syria by the end of 2015. I didn't disagree with bringing them because as a person with a family I can only imagine how terrible it must be to live in a war zone and fear for your children's safety. I just knew the logistics of this made it virtually impossible.

That said, this was something I posted to FB today. I flew from TO to VCR today.

"There were 4 Syrian families on my flight today. All of them with young children. None spoke a word of English. But there were people to meet them on their arrival.

I was surprised by how emotional I became thinking about their situation. Having lived in a war zone. Packing up and leaving friends and families and lives behind. Coming to a new country they probably knew little about to start over.

It is good to be Canadian. I wish all the families find happiness and peace that was stolen from them in their former home.

                #welcometoCanada"

I'm just scratching my head at this nonsense. Who wastes their time making a site like that (I didn't even look, so can't tell you). Conservatives should be happy, instead of an Obama clone pushing the country towards socialism he's taking his time making slow calculated moves. That's what Canadians want in a politician. We've learned to bash the other side by watching the Americans so much that we occasionally forget how our favourite politicians have been middle of the road type of guys.

The site doesn't appear to intend to bash, but to provide some accountability.

"Everyone pays close attention before voting day, but what about what happens after that? What about the next weeks, months, years?

That's the whole point of this website. It has no political affiliation whatsoever. It doesn't generate money in any way. It's just a platform for people to exchange ideas, and for the public at large to see what has been achieved by the government."

But thanks for sharing your valuable insight, "without even looking"...

                      Two things:

                      1) Apparently we spent $6 million upgrading some Forces bases for the Syrian refugees, but they've never stayed there.

                      http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/refu...ions-1.3494568

                      2) Did Trudeau make a promise to denigrate his predecessor at every opportunity? He needs to get over it. It's unstatemanlike, petty and tiring.

I heard his reference to his "predecessor" this morning on the radio. He has a way of making it sound like predeceased,
Petty and Immature of him. I am trying very hard to like him, for some stupid reason.

as for the army barracks, they never stood a chance in spite the upgrades. Camp comes with all the wrong connotations.

Saw in the news that Trudeau will reverse the OAS eligibility age from 67 back to 65.

Is that one of his promises? Do people approaching that age welcome it?

                            I don't have that problem.

Budget next week. I assume that's the first step towards "owning it". The PM job just seems too easy so far. Is that because he's so good at it or because he hasn't done anything? I can hope it's the former but I feel it's the latter and it's time to get to work.
