It's a 1 year deal. And he isn't awful.

Basically we rented him out for a few months, got a 2nd round pick then got him back for nothing. I bet he nets us another 2nd at the deadline.

Ok, just ok, with the Martin deal. Hate to play against a line of Uncle Leo, Naz and Martin.

Now Lou, trade for Tyson Barrie and sign Jimmy Vesey on Aug. 15 and I will be thrilled.

All they need to achieve what?

To achieve not coming in last place and hopefully competing for a playoff spot (key word: 'hopefully'). Cuz do we need for them to come in last place again?

No issues with the RoPo signing. Good in the room, veteran presence, hard nosed non-pu$$y type defender. We need bodies and he's a known commodity.

We shouldn't be contenders next season anyway... so maybe he gets us something down the road.

Good signing IMO.

He's pretty awful. My issue with it is that he prevents others from progressing at this level. Other guys with the potential to be better.

Polak's lack of footspeed was exploited in the playoffs, particularly in the final.
Still he may help some other team get to the playoffs.

Personally, I think that the Leafs 1) do need some veterans to demonstrate how to handle things professionally, 2) take some of the heat of the young players, 3)and maybe they might be better to finish out of the playoffs next season and get one more high choice.

Stay away from Demers.... I don't thinks he's worth the 6 or so he's after. The games I watch with him involved he was a defensive liability.

No worry . . . he is with the Panthers for the next 5 years . . .

Last place is better than 9th in the East.

Polak is a solid pickup for one year. I agree Pittsburgh's speed exposed him, but not all teams are as fast as the Pens. They needed a veteran back there, I recall Babcock liked him.

One of my good buddies is at the Development camp. Funny thing is he is a huge Canadiens fan. Hopefully he can make a good impression.

Thinking of taking my son Friday but have no idea how early to go, I'm sure it will be a zoo.

Was thinking of going in the middle of the night and having my wife drop him off closer to game time.
