I tee off at 9:20. Push cart, green shirt and a black knee brace on my left knee. If you see me definitely say hi.

I was out there a couple weeks ago. Course was in great shape as usual. Greens were fast, but hole placements were fair. $60 for the open house deal is an absolute steal!

Don't forget to stop by Fore Golfers Only after the round!

        Re: St. Thomas Golf Club

What a treat that was, now how do I convince my Wife to let me pay triple for a membership! That was easily the best course I've ever played. Conditions were great, bunkers are so nice to hit out of. It's a very picturesque course, beautiful day to play it too. I walked it and played with 2 pretty good golfers who took a cart. It's a good walk, lots of elevation but not far from greens to tee boxes.

There were a few soft spots but that was expected with the recent rain. Greens are amazing and it took me 9 holes to start figuring them out. I really struggled with the putter on the front (4 three putts for 22 putts ouch). On the back I had 4 one putts and no 3 putts for 14 putts. To putt in regulation over 18 holes was solid after starting with 22 putts.

I sunk 4 really nice downhill putts and struggled with the speed of the uphill putts. The guys in my group started saying I was leaving my ball above the hole on purpose! It worked for me today anyways. I played the Blue/White combo tees and found the yardage nice for me.

Final score 89, not great but after the bad putting I was happy being in the 80's. 47 on the front 42 on the back. Made a nice birdie on 10 with a downhill breaking putt. Nice sand par save on 16 and a nice up and down on 17. Lots of bogeys and 3 doubles all 3 putts.

Definitely a course you need to play more than once as there are a lot of blind shots. Round was completed in 4 hours. Crunch you have an amazing course, I hope I can become a member one day! For all of you who took part in the open house I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I was pretty sad to have to leave....I definitely could have played another 18!

elmeroil, glad you enjoyed your round today. Yes, I wish I could find the time to play more. Maybe in September and October. You should look into that 30 round package for $2,300. Not bad for a top rated Country Club. The folks at Union are a great bunch.

I have always said that if you can putt on these greens, you can putt anywhere and do well.

Well for now if you ever need a tgn'er to join you just let me know! Haha. If I do get a membership there I would have to get a full one because I would want to play it every day! Today was my 103rd round of the season so I don't think 20 rounds would cut it! Those greens roll so nicely, I could definitely get used to that!

Wow, Wow, Wow, what a great course, great shape & a perfect day for golf!!

Thank you so much Gerry for posting this opportunity

You guys were spot-on when you said "leave it below the hole"

(although, I see a certain someone figured them out) ...sorry I didn't see you there

Didn't hit well off the tee, and my score suffered greatly because of it

We played the Blue tees, which was perfect for everyone.

Would play this course again in a heartbeat.

              Next year?

Why go to FGO when you could go here instead? It's a lot closer to home for you.
