  • Manulife Classic

Ok all you fans of ladies golf. This will in all likelihood be the last kick at the can for this tournament. I have been a volunteer since the beginning. We had our orientation meeting yesterday. And they are desperate for marshalls. It's $85.00 and in return you receive a shirt ,2 hats ,your admission free parking , lunch and snacks, 6 general admission tickets for family and friends. A chance to be inside the ropes and get to watch these wonderful women play the game we all love. So how about going over to Manulife's site and sign up. you can even use my name and hole # if you like (so I can win a prize) Or you can gather up your own bunch of buddies and perhaps win something.

    Frank
    Marshall on hole #2

    Thanks

I should do this but I cannot give that much time.
Is this tournament in jeopardy? Last kick at the can for this tournament?
It would be sad to see it go

            Re: Manulife Classic

Yes Manulife has decided that after 6 years it is time to move on. Sad to say even the local smaller sponsors have backed off for this their final year. It's possible that someone else may pick it up. In the first couple of years they had to turn away volunteers Now they are asking us to do double shifts. I've enjoyed the experience and will be sad to see it go.

I would do 1 day but not driving back and forth for 4 days.
              That's asking a bit much.

And with Hunter Harrison retiring from CP....don't be surprised that the sponsorship for the Cdn Women's Open is in jeopardy too in the upcoming years.
Hunter was a driving force for the CWO sponsorship at CN and then at CP.
