Re: July Golf in Vegas and Scottsdale

Even May in Palm Springs is almost unbearable. Have done PGA West Nicklaus course in AM for 90 bucks, then a Stadium Course turnaround at 2PM for 29 bucks. I was rotating wet towels in the ice bucket on my head for the afternoon. 107* in the shade.

If it is golf you want, I would look at a Bandon or Whispering Straits. Scotch in the evening, golf all day. Loads of close by accessible courses.

If partying, Vegas for party, but might avoid golf unless you can get your butts out of bed in AM. Would wait until you get up to book....

I have only done one July trip to Vegas and presumably it will be my last. Dry heat or not, it is friggin hot. I remember standing in my sandles on the median crossing LV Blvd and feeling something burning my feet. It was my sandles! If I didn't keep moving, my friggin feat burnt.

Like most people, recommend you don't do it but if you do it, get the first tee time and stay away from bud and johnny.

The other interesting observation I made golfing in the high heat/low humidity is that you could feel yourself sweating, but your clothes never got wet. The sweat evaporates so quickly!
