nice list. I rather enjoyed pine lakes when I played it in May. The greens were the best we played all week. enjoy. PS there is no range there.

Thanks for the heads up! Being the first round I'll want to hit some before teeing off. Are there any ranges near by? Or where is the best range in myrtle?

Best range that I know of is at Legends resort. grand Dunes has a range and is closer to Pine Lakes. There may be others but depends where you're staying.

After several annual trips down to Myrtle with the guys and having played most of the upper tier courses (not all I must admit), most of the guys actually preferred some of the mid-tier courses. And not only because of the price. Layouts, conditioning, POP, staff, etc.. were on par with the upper tier courses and some actually had better conditions.

Long Bay, The Witch and Wild Wing Avocet were all big hits with the guys and I'm always asked to add at least one of those to our itinerary.

Wild Wing is a decent track. Not a fan of Long Bay, it's so friggin hard and if your game isn't on its a long, painful day.

Agreed on Long Bay. Not special, and really hard.

Interesting comments on Long Bay, just goes to show how different courses look and feel to different folks, nobody right or wrong.

The guys in our group who really liked Long Bay were 30+ HC'ers who all shot in the 100's. They preferred it over Willbrook, Pine Lakes and Heather Glen as well as the Barefoots, Rivers Edge and Tidewater.

can't imagine a 30+ cap enjoying long bay but if you say so. tons of small, elevated greens with lots of bunkers. I hit some good solid shots into those greens but if you are off just a tad its dead.

I quite liked Pine Lakes (best greens we played) and Rivers Edge is fun (though a challenge, as is Tidewater).

Looking at the course layout, it seems TPC of MB is going to be rather challenging. The overhead on the GolfShot GPS looks incredibly tight!

Yes, very underrated...we play it every visit

And your approach shots had better be accurate. The grass are fast and surrounded by bunkers.

It's the last course we play, so we should be properly warmed up by then...

TPC actually seems shorter than most, so I might be able to leave the driver in the bag for most of it, which will help.

Tim Robbins was in the group behind me today at Barefoot - Love. Great guy, a lot taller than expected !
