  • My Swing - 2 drives

WARNING: *The friend filming the first video swears a couple times, so make sure your volume is off or low at work, sorry about that*

I got out on Sunday and played 9 at Riverside since it was so nice, and the course is VERY close to my new place.

Hole 3 (Par 4)- 275-280 carry, 290 total. Slight left to right, middle fairway.

Hole 4 (Par 5) - 335 carry, 340 total, near dead straight, landed on an uphill, so not much roll. This was my longest of the year, came off the club perfect. (8 iron into the green after but rolled through!!!)

Also that is not my bag, my non-golfer buddy borrowed my old bag, but he doesn't really understand golf etiquette.

I feel like I have a little more juice to give, but don't want a big slice to come, since I have a slight left to right now. What would you recommend to straighten out or get a slight draw (without putting my right foot way back).

The guy in the 2nd video is not the brightest when it comes to anything outside of math and science. Turns out you need to be more than a nuclear engineering to film a golf swing. The other guy, well his commentary speaks for itself.

          That swing is impressive!

Not sure what else you can do to generate more power. Any work you do should be to become more consistent.

I think that is what I need most, but would not complain to gain a couple more yards. Any drills outside of just hitting a ton of balls to help with consistency?

Like I said, that was the best of the year most likely. I would like to be finishing around 300-310 to help make up for my lack of a short game (50 yards and in). But I think the most important thing is to keep it straight, so consistency drills or swing tips would be helpful. Always want to improve my game.

Your swing is so good that I will not dare to give you any advice. Go see a good pro.

One thing I will say is that you should practice hitting your 3 wood/5wood and use it on the tee on days when you feel that the driver is not consistent. It is good to have a backup weapon.

I was obsessed with distance at the start of 2011. TGNrs rightly told me to focus on consistency instead of worrying about distance. I then took several lessons and saw a big improvement in my game after I became more consistent. I did not lose any distance, in fact, I gained distance and consistency.

If you drive it 330-350 and you are not scoring in the 70's, you better work on your irons/short game and putting and forget the driver :P

Shot a +3, 38 (only played 9) with a triple, so I can play well, just not every round. I am very up and down.. But ya, my irons and putting need the work. Driver gives me confidence, so I want that to be the best it can be. I also don;t like the look of my swing, the follow through seems like something is off, but i can't put my finger on it.

I'll get some iron videos soon, then you boys can really rip me apart.. its not pretty.

Also like I said, I don't always hit that far, 280-310 is my normal range

Not sure I get it. You want to be even longer off the tee so your short game is less of a factor? Wouldn't being super long off the tee require an even stronger short game?

My short game isn't good, but the closer I am, the less of a chance I have to screw up. Its a linear scale of sucking that starts at the fringe and works out to the 80 yard marker.

Also the whole confidence thing. If I am bombing it, then i feel good and the rest of the game comes along better.
