Re: Hunting undersiege
I view big game trophy hunting as a very selfish endeavour.
You pay and kill a lion, rhino, elephant or other threatened species and nobody else will ever have the ability to see that specific animal in the wild. And its DNA is removed from the gene pool.
If instead you go as an 'eco tourist' not only do you get to see it but, many others will have that opportunity.
Strictly speaking the long term economic impact of eco tourism is therefore far greater than a one off hunt.

Re: Hunting undersiege
They don't "kill" them, they "take" them. They are "beautiful" and it is "exciting to take such a beautiful animal".
When they kill these animals they deprive others from the opportunity to see them. It's deemed selfish. Then of course there's the animal's right to live, which I get, but I'm eating a ham sandwich right now and haven't quite resolved that one.
I had to kill a rabbit that was hit by a car and was lying with a broken back on my front lawn. It bothered me for weeks. When I told others, they said that they couldn't have done it. I don't understand the mentality required to kill for fun and I'd think that most of the populous is of the same mind.

Re: Hunting undersiege
I find it comical how they all feel the need to justify themselves with obvious lies and irrelevancies.
The truth is it gives them a thrill, is legal, and allows them to brag to their like minded friends. IMO that is it!!!
Ricky Gervais has been cracking me up for months on this topicOver thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.

Re: Hunting undersiege
I understand deer or moose if it's a population control issue.
I'm pretty sure there aren't an over abundance of giraffes out there.

Re: Hunting undersiege
I don't get it either. A high percentage of "big game" hunters are from the States. It must be that gun mentality.
A lot of us have played and loved Eagle Eye in East Lansing, Michigan and the owner is a hunter. He has a lot of his trophies in the basement of that huge clubhouse. I can't remember what he had downstairs, but it was mostly North American game. Moose, elk, deer, black bear, etc.Ping G425 Max 9* Driver, Tour 65-S
