  • Decreasing loft on a driving iron with no bounce

    Hey Nuts,

I have a driving iron with 0* bounce and 21* loft. I hit it well both off the tee and the turf, but I'd like to lower the loft. What happens wrt turf interaction when you strengthen an iron with 0* bounce? Anyone have exp with this?

    Thanks!

Re: Decreasing loft on a driving iron with no bounce

Theoretically you built yourself a digging machine , but in a long iron with a fairly level AoA, I don't see it making a ton of difference. Especially if you swing well enough to hit a 2 iron off the deck.

If you hit it fat, you'll know in an awful hurry.

driving irons usually have a lead bevel and a rounded sole.
de-lofting it via shaft lean would be the simplest and most effective.
