Chastising? Wow. I followed him and many others ( Jack Kay etc) for years and will always support Canadians. "so much time" refers to the # of posts here that are negative. Cranky John

How come he wasn't even in the field at Riviera, he's a 2-time Champion of that Tournament?

Funny - I was just reading about him.

Says he feels good, looking forward to Augusta, getting some practice in there.

Tried to qualify for the Genesis and for the Honda - missed both by 5. I guess he asked for a sponsor's exemption for the Genesis but was turned down. I wonder if it made a difference that his wins weren't with the current sponsor.

Kinda feel bad for him, 2-time champion of an event, and he has to try to Monday Qualify?....and he has to "black out" the RBC on his bag (can't he get a New bag?!)

Does he still have any sponsors? You'd think he'd move south to Florida or at least for the winter months so he could get more outdoor range/course time instead of hitting indoors.

understand RBC hasn't renewed their contract with Mike. RBC has a top tier of golf talent carrying their brand around the golf course. Too bad for Mike - some play related and some maybe related to the trend in this thread.

Or perhaps RBC is slowly stepping back from golf sponsorships. Donald & Day are both gone as well.

Still a pretty big team for RBC. Canadians sponsored by RBC are Delaet, Hearn, Hadwin and Taylor as well as Brooke.

Probably better bang for their buck using this stable of Canadians.

Yep, they'll all be on TV more than Weir, which is the entire point of sponsoring a player.

This is undoubtedly the reason he's no longer with Bell; it has nothing to do with any perception that Weir is not a nice guy. I'm pretty sure Bell doesn't read TGN when deciding who to sponsor.

Thats not true. Most big business is monitoring this site for all of their insight.

Excellent, because I was just about to start a thread advocating that "Happy Ending Meals" should be a late-night dining option at McDonald's.

RBC somewhat quietly announced that they are trying to sponsor high end local talent. Some US players will still be sponsored, as RBC has a rather large foot print in the south east US.

I think DOnald bailed on the Canadian Open while still in the RBC stable. Pretty much a rock solid way to not get renewed.

Not a bad lineup. I notice RBC's reference to world-class talent.
