Default President Obama's Farewell Address

President Obama's farewell address this evening was a moving tribute to the strength that lies at the heart of the American democratic experience. The man is an unparalleled orator.

One great line:

He's a brilliant Statesman and America will soon realize the difference between him and a buffoon.

read this tweet tonight

I've been waiting for 7 years for Obama to take my gun and all I got was a job, health insurance and marriage equality.

I amazed at the man's composure and dignity. The speech was brilliantly conceived and inspirational, exactly how one should lead.

Yes, I will admit he's good with a teleprompter.

Is that the best you've got? When we play golf this summer, we can listen to a recording of it. That should be fun.

He should be exceptional. He'll have a teleprompter.

Just a class act all the way. He'll be a tough act to follow. Even tougher if DT hold continues on the path he's on. Maybe his speech will be off a Twitterprompter.

While I agree that there is no comparison between the bumbling Trump and Obama's silky smooth oration , reports indicate that Obama uses a Telepromter as well.

I really like(d) Obama, he had a calming tone and seemed to genuinely care.

He may well have used a Teleptompter. In a day and age where every word is dissected in search of any perceived faux pas, he'd be well-advised to use notes. In any event, he wrote the speech so it's not as though he's claiming credit for someone else's words.

Good speech. Good speaker.

Unfortunately he has made race relations worse with his divisive rhetoric and crying wolf.

just remember George W Bush used a teleprompter as well.
There is an enormous change the US goes from arguably one of the greatest presidents to one of the worst.

Do you have examples of his "divisive rhetoric" and his "crying wolf?" I ask, because this charge seems completely unfounded.

Noticed in his speech when he cited his accomplishments (saving the economy and auto industry, job and wage growth, healthcare, etc.) as "we" achieved not "I".

Agree completely. Well said. He is a class act and probably the best speaker I've heard. I have heard Bill Clinton speak (in person), he's also excellent. I think they all use teleprompters. Difficult not to given his speech was just shy of an hour.

From statesman to buffoon in just a few days.

* newsflash *

Politicians employ speechwriters.

The POTUS is too busy doing important things, like protecting the free world, closing Guantanamo Bay, etc.

From what I understand, this President writes a lot of his own material. President Kennedy was another.

Not sure how JFK found the time...maybe he fit it in between his wife-cheating episodes. Pierre Salinger was a great spin doctor, wasn't he.
