  • Mystic in Ancaster Sunday Apr 2

Played yesterday. Sogginess was as expected, but all greens were in play and not horrible condition for this time of year. Rough was wetter than the fairways. Not that I was in the fairway much.

Rate was steep, no spring discount.

    That is absolutely ridiculous.

I've noticed Golf North really doesn't offer much in the way of shoulder season discounts. Membership is cheap. Lots of hot deals on Golf Now. But rack rate many times is a bit on the high side for many of their courses especially with no spring/fall rates to speak off.

It's a way of doing business, I was happy to be out and playing in the sunshine. The 'no spring rate' comment was just there to manage expectations. Similar to the rest of the post.

It really was an enjoyable early season round.

I had a tee time near London but decided to change it closer to home, I booked Flamborough online, only to get there and find out the course is closed! Club house open but not the course, but wait.. you accept tee times on our website? .." we forgot to disable that feature"..

So I went down the street to Century Pines... conditions similar, few soggy spots, greens slower but overall was ok. However $45 walking also felt like their regular price

There were no deals anywhere yesterday that I could find.. and I'm sure every course was packed regardless.

Well, I hate to brag--no I don't, but.....Paris Grand was very well priced yesterday!! More than worth the 45 minute wait at the 1st tee! It pays to know JAYHAWKER!!

...saved even more by not eating at Camp 31, then grabbed some of that 95¢/Litre gas in the Hammer on the way home

A delightful day of golf, the likes of which I'm unlikely to see again this season. (a birdie & a sub-90 round was sweet too)

Out of curiosity, what is the regular green fee (before cart) at Mystic in the summer?
I like big putts and I cannot lie
                    You other putters can't deny
That when a putt goes in with an itty bitty pace

                      Too much.

I believe it is $80+ on the weekend.
