Is this in an effort to improve your game or do you get bored with equipment that fast.

Ive only replaced half my set, my hybrids and fairway woods are still from 2005. I havent pulled the trigger on a full bag fitting until Im satisfied with my play and confident enough in my swing.

This year I had a tough time balancing age, arthritis, and diminished skill, hence all the trial and error. Working at GT it does not cost me an enormous amount to experiment. Right now, I think I have a good balance of playability, looks and feel, the one outlier being the 5-wood but I'll stick with it until the Demo Sale.

Re: How Often do you Replace your Irons & Driver?

I've been replacing my set every 3-4 years, usually with a used prior year model. Got a full set of Ping G25 woods, hybrids, and irons from various sources (mainly Kijiji). I'm a 24 index, so I guess my question is whether I would benefit from getting a fitted set? I am taking lessons as well, so I hope to see some improvement by next season. Used to be an 18 index when I played more regularly.

I think that if you are tall or short, a fitted set makes sense, even for us higher handicappers. I'm 6'4", so most of my iron shots with a standard set would be leading with the toe of the club.

Once every year and s half but usually used/trades. I buy wedges new, that's about it.

Re: How Often do you Replace your Irons & Driver?

Prior to this season I had not changed out my irons in over 7yrs. My driver in 5 yrs. Over last winter, I bought a set of Mizuno mx900 with graphite shafts and a Cleveland Classic 10.5 deg 270 driver and have found this to be the very best I have ever used. I also bought 2 lessons and a practice round with our pro. This has made a tremendous difference. But I have Bobby Jones hybrids and wedges which have been with me for over 5 years and a Wilson putter for over 15 years. My 5 wood is 14yrs in the bag and I resurrected a TNT 7 wood this year which suits a couple of holes at my home course. Nothing new on the horizon. I have an Adams 3 wood which is not suited to my swing, does not fit my eye. We'll see in 2016 about that.

Just wondering how you find them. Bought a new set this year . . . first time ever (usually BST every 4 or 5 yrs). Bought the Callaway XR and wow . . . just nice. Easy to hit and longer . . . sometime to long. Had some trouble to be consistent with them, but should get use to it. Hope you like them as much as I do . . .

Re: How Often do you Replace your Irons & Driver?

Bought my irons new in 2007 and had MG build me a driver in 2012. I'll add the odd hybrid or wedge here and there that will stay in the bag for a few years. I'd like to get some new irons but have so many other things speaking for that money and I play well with my current set.

Re: How Often do you Replace your Irons & Driver?

My keepers are two of everything, so the bag is duplicated in case we get a summer home down the road.

Last 2 sets of irons lasted 8 and 4 years, the current i20's probably 12 years or longer ... so I average 8 years a set of irons

I do not replace drivers just continue to buy more The worst part of my game, the other 13 clubs all work pretty good.

My putter, wedges, irons and hybrids might never get replaced ... so good

Irons - Titleist ZM forged. Bought them off TGN in 2012, likely will play them for another 2 or 3 seasons.

5 Wood + 3 Hybrid - Titleist 910F/H. Bought them new in 2012. Probably will not replace them anytime in the near future.

Wedges - TVD SM4 52/56*. Bought them.on their release date in...2013? Will likely play them another 2-3 seasons depending on wear.

Driver - TM Burner.. broke my 913 when my bag fell off the cart and cracked the back of the head. looking to replace ASAP. hello BST!

I try to play my equipment for atleast 5 years as a general rule, wedges sometimes a bit less.

You bought your irons off TGN 2 years before you joined TGN???
