Im a teenager, and withought my g2 cannot drive out to courses that are farther away. I play the public courses, but do to this stupid strike only have flemmington as a close by option. Any suggestions for a course that is close by, and not too expensive. Any help would be appreciated, I just cant stand knowing I dont have the option to walk over to dentonia, get a drive to Tam, or even bus it to Don. This sucks!!

Re: WHEN WILL THIS STRIKE BE OVER!!
Hey man, a lot of sundays I head to Braeben in Mississauga...it's not that bad of a trip on transit, and it's only $45 starting at 2pm on weekends. Fantastic course for the price.
Parkview's accessible on transit too, the 53 Steeles brings you pretty much right to it.

For what it's worth, I can pick you up when I play Remington or wherever. Thing is, my golf-days are Fridays and or Saturdays only. I'm gonna be heading out to Bloomington tomorrow or if I'm too lazy to drive far, Remington. Carpooling is the antidote to this %^&*# strike....Cobra Bio-Cell+ set at 9° with VLCT Stiff

Re: WHEN WILL THIS STRIKE BE OVER!!
I heard from somewhere that the city is saving approx $1 mil/day due to the strike and they will be using this saved amount to make up for the 18 sick days the workers are asking for in the contract negotiation. What a f'king joke, we (the public) are suffered for all those a-holes' benefit.

I have been making a point of asking as many people as I can and honestly not ONE has attempted to defend either the unions and/or the city for allowing this to happen, and then not mandating them back.
I say give the million bucks to Waste Management to come pick up the garbage. I betcha the "issues" would be resolved within a day, and probably against the union as Waste Management could probably do it more effeciently.
The city could say they are using the dollars THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN ALLOCATED to garbage pick up to hire a private company until their strike gets resolved.

Re: WHEN WILL THIS STRIKE BE OVER!!
Hiring another company to do the garbage while the workers are on strike would result in a VERY messy situation.
Mediation should be mandated here. I'm not pro workers here, but the city doesn't seem to be dealing with it too urgently. As for the private companies doing a better job, come to my street after garbage day...it's pathetic. That never happened when the city did it here.

Re: WHEN WILL THIS STRIKE BE OVER!!
It hasn't gotten too bad where I am, and tho' I'm not pro-union, if they're not deemed "essential" they have the 'right' and that's what the 'strike option' is about! Always has been.
Funny that Miller was quoted about 2 weeks ago saying something to the effect that the money invested in his 'transit plan' was the most satisfying thing in his Mayoral career!
....and now with this debacle, and his NDP-leanings, I don't seem to see/hear as much from him!!??Every great idea starts out as a blasphemy
