I think Tiger will comeback just before The Masters and play one tournament as a tuneup. I cant see him taking more time off than that since his entire lifetime goal is to beat Jack`s Major record.

Tigers playing days are likely over, and he will become the next LPGA golf commissioner

During the 2nd round of the 2010 Masters, Mr. Woodlands will withdraw due to injury. He'll be 8 shots from the cut-line at the time.

I just hope that golf continues without him until he does come back.
Not saying this just because of what has happened lately, but I actually found I didn't miss him as much as I thought after the 2008 US Open. I found the tournaments to be as good and exciting without him. The best thing for the game is to not let the morals of Tiger affect the game, and I saw an interview with Tim Finchem last night and it looks like the PGA tour is going to be strong in 2010 even with TIger being a question mark. That is really good news for the game.

Well he maybe back sooner then some think. He is playing golf again. He's hitting balls in the dark at an area course in FLA. It maybe something to take his mind off of things or he's just getting ready for 2010.

Masters would be a good tournament to start for TW. Spectators usually are more well-behaved than at other venues. The organizers/members are very demanding from maximum time allowed for TV commercials to strict crowd controls. There will be some verbal attacks during play I'm sure, but can you imagine the abuse at, let's say the Phoenix Open? The Masters Tournament may not need him but golf needs TW back.

it'd be hard to watch golf if there're hecklers during play (you know there will be crazy ppl out there)... I think he should skip next year
then come back strong in 2011 and win the grand slam of golf

Honestly, don't care.
There are more than enough great golfers on the PGA Tour to watch.

Golf does not need Tiger Woods. Maybe the PGA Tour does, but I won't be too upset if their prize money is cut in half - the winner might only get half a million dollars! ![]() I hope he does return but my playing and viewing habits won't change in the slightest either way.

It won't affect my playing either. Not one stitch.
As for watching, it likely will. While I have never "liked" him, I must admit that I find telecasts a bit boring without him. And I am someone that has been obsessively playing and watching the game for over 40 years. |

I suppose that if the divorce is underway or completed, he might as well return sooner rather than later. No time needed to work on his marriage in that case. I would think he should get all the crap out of the way at at least one tournament before the Masters. It would allow things to die down and for him to have a semi-dignified return there.
If he's allowed to try to resurrect his marriage from the sham and shambles it now is, he may need a bit more time. But not too much time - I mean what, exactly will he and Elin do all day from now until April? There's only so much talking about this that either one can do. Maybe they'll keep chatting until the US Open? Regardless, it won't make that much difference to me. Well I feel we've been lucky to watch a rare and special player at the peak of his game, I was also frustrated by his ongoing deification during the coverage, and the amount of coverage time he took from other players. This was especially bad when he wasn't really in the hunt for a tournament. There would be a dozen guys out vying for the lead, and playing the best golf of the day and we'd be stuck watching Tiger line up a putt, or a rerun of him on the range earlier in the day. Not that that was his fault, it was the choice of the networks. Regardless of who's in the field, I'm going through withdrawal. Haven't played a round in 3 or 4 weeks, and no "real" golf on TV either. Can hardly wait until Jan 7th and the first round of the Mercedes (SBS) - always one of my favorite events as it is a limited field and the start of the year. |

He will quit the tour and form his own. Kobie, Clinton, Kareem, Wilt, Letterman, Dochovny, Hugh Grant, various Senators. Lock up your daughters!!!

2011 - Once he's off the "alleged" roids, he'll swell up a la Duval, and need some time to work back into golfing shape - might replace one addiction with a food addictionI will enjoy seeing the rest of the "these guys are great" on TV for a whileWe need one year of golf being returned as a gentlemen's game before the hecklers are out to hassle T-Dub or is that T-Rub?The build up to the "he's back....", will be an interesting marketing study

I don't think we'll see him until he's confident he looks (facially) like the Tiger we all know...my guess 2011!
