Default LPGA Kraft Nabisco

my annika has been on a mini-annika slump lately not winning for two tourneys in a row now..

anyways, Michelle Wie and Lorena Ochoa are now tied at the top with about 6 holes to play. Karrie Webb is one shot back, while Natlie Gulbis is 3 shots back..

Lorena has been going wire to wire for the first three round...but is starting to choke AGAIN..

let's see if she can finally pull one through win her first major..

or will we see Wie winning her first lpga win at a major?

or will be see Karrie Webb back to her winning ways again?!

or..my dream scenario..everyone chokes and Annika somehow wins in the end to complete her first leg of soren-slam

*Sigh*

Wie now sits at top with ochoa dropped a shot

webb and ochoa sits one shot back, gulbis 2 shots...

5 holes left to play for wie/ochoa/gulbis

ooo exciting!! didnt' think it would be this close!

Ochoa, Wie, Web @ -7 .... anyone watching Lefty play? ... what a Sunday round!!!!?

Ochoa misses another fairway! dribbles 2nd shot 30 yeards ...

Gulbis gettin' lots of air-time.

Jules might steal one if these young guns crumble.

Gulbis stuffs a long one for a share o' the lead ... and Wie answers with a clutch par-save!

Ochoa has a long one just to be one-back .. a miss would sink her 2 back

I noticed how your posts were automerged. You must have made a post on Wie, and then two seconds later posted with Webb's eagle.

Did you see the look on Wie after it happened though! Not too sportsmanlike... ah well, I'm still cheering for Wie so that everyone would stop saying she's not good because she's never won.

lol..its the same look that morgan pressel had when she saw birdie kim eagle from the bunker during last years US open

WOW! nice 2nd shot by ochoa on final hole par 5....should be a fairly easy eagle putt for her. to force a playoff...

wie has a good eagle chance too (to win)..but definately a good birdie opportunity...
gulbis has a makeble birdie putt too!

lets see if this will end in a playoff! FOUR WAY!

freak i should be studying

*edit

ah this automerged thing is kinda annoying

Gulbis missed birdie putt..will finish one back
Wie missed eagle putt..will putt for birdie to force playoff....and she missed..will finish one back...questionable play off the fringe tho

now up to ochoa..must eagle to force playoff....and...SHE MAKES IT!!!! PLAYOFF TIME BETWEEN WEBB AND OCHOA!!!!!!

*edit
both missed the green on their 2nd shot..
both have a bit of work left to make birdie after their 3rd shot..
ochoa missed her birdie putt....karrie now putts for the win!

AND KARRIE WEBB WINS!!!!!! WOW!!!!!! SOOO HAPPY FOR HER!!
comeback player of the year?!

is MW the "Best-LPGA-player-to Never-Win-A-Major"?
wait-a-sec, she isn't even a member of the LPGA yet!

great golf entertainment! Webb, Ochoa, Wie, Gulbis and Annika!

I just finished watching the last nine holes and your posts were almost as good as watching it live. Nice job keeping TGN updated on the exciting finish.

wow, what a great finish! that 18th hole is deceptively difficult to make a birdie, even with a long iron/hybrid on the approach.

it's pretty cool how the women are able to bomb it 300 yards nowadays...

yeah, running a tad overtime with the playoff and all ... plus started coverage a couple minutes late because Federerer's tennis match ran late.

Simply amazing golf and finish!! I was out and was just in time to see Webb make that eagle shot. Glad she won and great to see her win - BIG - again. As for the runner up - Ochoa - she still played one heck of a tournament and she gained a lot of followers. Wie and Gulbis put on a great show as well but Karrie topped them all. Good for her. 7 majors now. Was once Annika's main rival who kinda got lost for awhile tinkering with her swing. She deserves to be up there. Wie - I must admit - is showing us what the hype is all about....its just a matter of time.

I was cheering for Gulbis to win because I wanted to see her jump into the pond and emerge from the water.

Good call!!

But seriously, that was one heck of a finish!! I just happened to turn on the TV on the 16 when Wie stuck her approach 1 foot away and thought "wow! she might win her 1st major!", two seconds later, Webb holes out for eagle and the look on my face was just like Wie! haha...she did not look too pleased!! I thought Wie coughed up a bit on the 18th though, I really thought there would have been atleast a 3way playoff, she should have put that chip shot a lot closer. Ochoa though, even more impressive, after an up and down final round she plays the 18th like a superstar! What a second shot! Thats the most excited I`ve been for a Ladies tournament I have to admit. Hopefully, this season will have more exciting finishes like this one.

Wie is going to win eventually. But since i do not like the exemptions, money and attention she gets going after guys tour, when she hasn't even won yet, I resent her.
She will win, but in mean time, I get to be a little smug, everytime she misses that first win.

Lee Trvino did OK with a pretty disfunctional swing, so has Jim Furyk. Perfect mechanics don't necessarily win you tournaments. Wie is good for womens golf but because she has brought all this attention to her until she wins and wins consistently she will always be viewed through a magnifying glass.

Sorry... I misread the statement. Yes Michelle needs to work on her short game. I think even us hacks would have been disapointed walking off with par when you are in the fringe in 2 on a par 5. A few more putts falling for Michelle and she could have won.
