  • M5 3HL or 5 wood?

    Hello everyone!

I知 looking for some guidance to fit a spot in my bag. I知 currently playing a TaylorMade M5 Driver and a PXG Gen 2 0311X 3 driving iron. I知 looking to fill the gap with a new fairway wood.

I have recently been given a TaylorMade M5 3 wood, which I can still exchange for a 5 wood if needed. The shaft I知 going to be playing is the Tensei Pro White 80TX at 42.75 length. The M5 3 wood is 43.25 and the 5 wood is 42.25.

My question is if I should play a 3 wood lofted up to 17ー and play like a 4 wood at the in between length? Or get a 5 wood and play it at 19ー and 0.5粕 long?

for reference, I致e generally had issues with 3 wood Lengths, and I play my irons 0.5 long and around 2ー upright. From what I致e been told going 2ー up on the 3 wood will close the face and make it more upright.

Thank you everyone for your input!

Since you have the driving iron the 3HL makes more sense for the gap fill.
