There are quite a few TLT threads here at TGN already with lots of good info, though difficult to search as one can't search for 3-letter terms. I've contributed to many TLT threads over the years as Dan did 3 TLT builds for me, my last being in 2017 with some JPX-900 Forged and Accra shafts. My discussions with Dan over those years and my growing interest in non-standard clubs, got me started down the road to my own club-building and further refinement of what I like and works for me. Nothing is a universal fit.

Nice of you to share your experiences, however, based on the responses in this thread, your experiences are not being well received or are not being understood by this community. Perhaps it is a communication thing or perhaps it is not.

OP good luck with your decision. Once you venture down this path, it gets expensive, either by trying to self fit or being fit by someone who charges for the service.

On a side note, I find it funny when people say "Standard". jordan73 I don't believe there is anything that is standard in this industry. Good luck to you too and if anyone tells you that you are standard, please run unless they can tell you what standard means to them. As far as I know, there are no standard in Club Heads' Lofts & Lies or Shafts Flex & Bend Profiles.
This is interesting, thanks for the info and I will keep this in mind. As I mentioned I was told that twice at 2 different fittings. They gave me a few options to choose from , and told me " you can choose any option as you are as " standard " as it gets. I'm going for another fitting and will watch for this.

TLT worked for me. Go to any fitter that can do it. Kona golf does TLT. Maybe Modern Golf does TLT fittings? You can always tweak it throughout the season.

Dan, some people in the community would like to know how you select a particular shaft for a client/player during a TLT fitting/build/retrofit, etc.

Dan fit me for TLT a couple years ago and I am a fan. I love the set up and feel. It was actually a retrofit. I had clubs built at Modern golf which were great and I loved them and I used for a few years. Then read about TLT and went and saw Dan and he rebuilt them to TLT specs. I actually found a mint set of the same Mizuno heads on eBay this winter I just haven’t made an appointment with Dan yet to build them up from scratch this time. To be ready for golf this summer.

I base things off of swing speed, tempo, how quick they load a shaft, how full the swing is, carry distances...
Basically try to choose a shaft that suits the individual and their swing characteristics.

If I'm doing a retrofit the first step is to see if the existing shaft does suit their swing. If building new there are lots of factors to consider before designing the set.
