I read on Ralph Maltby's site that average length of putter on the PGA tour is 33". Just wondering how big is yours? Putter I mean.

Most peoples putters are far too long for them. The majority play a 35 since that's what's the majority is at GT.
Mine is 34 and I'm 6ft1. I'm also debating on trying somethig shorter.Titleist Lightweight Stand Bag

How do you know if it is the right length? I have heard people say line up and then drop a ball and if it lands on the ball you are over the ball and that putter is the right length for you. Phil in his DVD doesnt agree with this.
Then what are you meant to do, set up with the mirror on the floor and and see where your eyes appear in the mirror.Comment

I went from OTR 35" to 33" to 33.5" and now at 34".
I find 34" best suits my inconsistent putting stance.Comment

when you chock way down on the putter means too long, well for me it is, 5'-7" 34" putter cut down to 32 1/2" take some time to get used to but it was better than ever,Originally posted by Johnson View PostComment

5'8" and I play a 32 1/2" putter. Other that I am testing is 34", but I choke down on it to a comfortable position.

Started with 35" ... then settled into my current putting stroke... and found that 34" works much better. Depending on the day, I'll even grip down .5" But I've left my putters at 34" to give myself some leeway.
