  • Oshawa Golf Club

I am thinking of getting an out of towner membership, which includes 15 rounds. I have yet to play the course, so looking for some nuts opinions.

The reason I am looking at Oshawa is my parents are from Courtice, so I would play when going to visit them.

Think P25 was a member there a few years ago so should be able to help out.

Solid track that can give even the longest hitters all they can handle. Greens are excellent, solid par 3s. I kinda felt like the last few holes were a bit cramped for space, but never took away from the experience. I always made the drive out when invited and was lucky to play it numerous times when in T Dot.

        Great choice of tracks.

Agreed, played once and very much enjoyed the front nine and then it just seemed cramped on the back. Didn't help that it was a little slow come the last 6-7 holes.

Is it still private? Its more of a do it yourself club and conditions are never very good
That said it can be pretty fun

I was a member there for a year about four years ago and played again a few weeks ago. Rounds can be very slow. Honestly it was the reason I left.

And even again, on our 11th hole a few weeks there was six groups on that hole; one on the green, one in the fairway, one on the tee and three groups waiting. The weather that day was miserable too. Super windy, cold and rainy. Can't imagine it on a good day. Didn't really feel private. I've been a member at many lesser Durham courses and had better playing experiences elsewhere at MUCH less cost.

I was a member in 2013. Never had a round longer than 4hrs. Conditioning? Was good. Not great. I say not great because they liked having greens that didn't get fast. Too many trees that take away from the design IMO. The trees also have a negative impact on the rough conditions - a lot of bare/hard pan areas in the rough along tree lines. Would be a better track with a serious tree removal program. I left because I didn't see it as good value, and my priorities have changed a lot.

I still enjoy my rounds there. Just not a course I enjoy playing 50+ times a year.

I thought they were also renovating their clubhouse.

15 rounds at a reasonable price sounds good.

I play there a few times a year... love the track. Course is always in good shape and the staff is excellent. It's an old school course with mature trees and a solid design. Undergoing some improvements now that will only increase the value.

I think that's dam expensive for 15 rounds , that entrance fee plus $1200 , seems a little steep to me,,,

It's $100 a round without factoring in the initiation.
