  • Golf North (within 2 hour drive from Toronto)

    Hello guys,

I need some advice for our fall golf trip.
As some of you may know, we did a weekend Niagara trip few weeks ago and had a blast.
Now we are planning overnight trip to north, preferably within 2 hour drive. We hope to play 3 rounds, 2 on Saturday and 1 more on Sunday before we drive down. And we like to play different courses...
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

    Peter

I'm going to Cobble Beach with the wife for our anniversary in a few weeks. Looks great. The Briar also looks amazing.

They both look awesome (especially Cobble Beach). But I don't think you can play both courses and third course in two days, as they are pretty far apart.
I am looking to play 3 rounds in two days so they need to be pretty close together....

If you're at Cobble, how about Legacy Ridge in nearby Owen Sound.
It was formerly known as the Owen Sound Golf Club ( founded 1920 ) and was designed by Stanley Thompson.

Nestled along the shores of Georgian Bay just north of Owen Sound and 20 minutes from Sauble Beach, sits one of Ontario's premier golf destinations

My suggestion would be drive 2 hours east to Belleville/Kingston area, play Black Bear Ridge, Trillium Woods, Timber Ridge and Smugglers Glen or any of the three.
If you have to go north, then Parry Sound area and play Ridge at Manitou, Perry Sound, Sequin Valley. All courses are very nice and lots of places to stay.

Agreed, it is just up the road from Cobble and a good, classic track. One could also throw Lora Bay into the mix, it is about 30-40 minutes from Cobble.

How about the parry sound area?
You could play the ridge at manitou as well
              As parry sound golf club.
Oak bay is on the way up or coming back.
