Anyone know if Bancroft Ridge is opening this year? https://www.golfbancroftridge.com/

No tee times in Chronogolf, Google says "temporarily closed", no answer to phone - seems late if they are still planning on opening this year.

No clue. But I believe that the 9 hole course in Bancroft, Bancroft Golf Course , a family owned golf course since about 1950 , has been sold to developers and will no longer be operational this year

I've played the Bancroft 9 holer for 40 years in the summer. After reading your post, I called the club to confirm. Spoke to the owner who confirmed the sale. I'm not a fan of the Bancroft Ridge course.

I also spoke to Fraser earlier this year, and he said he's really looking forward to having more time to play some golf. LOL

I have played a course in Bancroft few years ago . Not sure which one. But a course we always played when at the cottage was Martinwood. That was a fun course that many tried to operate but just couldn't get it done. That includes a Bancroft course that tried to turn it around.

The Martinwood course had a lot of potential but was poorly designed (many fairways sloped towards the woods with no rough to stop the ball) and never well kept. It was the cheapest option around Bancroft though and many around our place on Lake St. Peter (especially the higher handicappers who wanted a fairly empty golf course) liked to play there.

Fraser did seem to be quite happy with the sale. I hope they got a good price altho I don't see a big demand for non lake property in the area?
