Banty reveled in their misleading 2for1 discounts in the coupon book.
We'd chance it when we couldn't get on at Hunters Glen or Woodlands.
I haven't been to the "Orchard" since Hunters closed.
Back then we were young and foolish and desperate to play.
Parkshore was The Trailer Park course. You had to clear a path on the Green through the goose shiat.things change

It was associated with the curling rink and the owners were looking to the lessors to make major improvements to the building. The owners were looking to milk every dime out of the place without putting up any money of their own for upkeep. The lessors were left with no option but to pull out.
The course itself had many nice holes - plus a few quirky ones, admittedly. But if maintenance standards had been higher and course access better managed, it could have been a decent track. I for one am sorry its is gone, but even more so for it being an opportunity wasted.
Yes, go-to winter course for the diehards. Bu that is just a reflection of its financial desperation.
Fortunately there are no rules limiting the number of golf balls you can carry during a match!
