FYI from Eagle's Nest booking site:

CONSTRUCTION ALERT: For the safety of all guests, Hole #17 will play as a shortened par 4 due to ongoing construction. Until late May 2023 Hole #16 will also play as a par 4 with a temporary green. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The Nest is a very nice course with wide fairways but plenty of fescue. The greens are large and undulating surrounded by plenty of bunkers. Since cost is no object you will not be bothered by the price. It is a very nice "experience".
However the actual clubhouse is small, and while it is nice I'd hardly call it luxurious. Now, if you were to stay there for a couple of days, things might be different (I am unsure about accommodations).

If money is truly no object, you could do a play-and-stay at one of the cabins on Bigwin Island. The cabins look great, the food, service and golf are all excellent too.

And you get to take a boat ride to and from the course.

        But it's not cheap.....

Sorry to off topic, love this place, played it several times in the past and sure it was in the $ 100 -125 range not too long ago.

Looks like I will never play it again, by the way when we played it was restricted to certain months, think June and September.

I think the cabins are the only way you can play if you're not a member or guest of one.

Back in the day, Devil's Pulpit (before they became The Pulpit Club) used to have a special price for non-members. I think a foursome was about $1000 which was a lot for 10 years ago, but.... it was a way to get on and it's one of my favourite courses. OP might give them a call and see what they say. While both courses are terrific, I'd warm up at the Pulpit, play the Paintbrush, and have dinner back at the Pulpit for the maximum luxe experience.

I didn't know Bigwin was still accessible to the public in any way. If you have the money, that is my #1 recommendation by a long shot. Would be very memorable for your guest.

Played Eagles Nest a few weeks back, front 9 is nice but back 9 starts to fall off especially with the construction.

Played TPC as well and while yes there is construction on North you still have Hoot which is open and I don't believe anything on it. North the construction only comes into play on 9 and 18 and in the background not on the course like Heathlands on 18.

Heard Copper Creek is really nice, never played it myself yet but will someday.

If you know anyone at a private club maybe see if they can get you on with guest passes. I was lucky enough to play Weston last year and that was an experience for sure.

I think the problem with TPC (Osprey) for the OP isn't the golf course, which is obviously great, but that the pre- and post-round drinks, meal, parking lot reception, all of that, would be a long, long way from a luxury experience. This will presumably change in 2024 and beyond after the build-out, but for now their facilities are definitely lacking if top-end client (or buddy) entertainment is what you are after. Which I am not, generally speaking (I love Osprey as it is) but on this occasion that is what the OP is after.

Are you restricting yourself just to the GTA/surrounding area? or would you be willing to make an entire day out of it? If yes, I would have a look at cobble beach. There is also some other nice places around that area too..just a thought, but do understand there are certain limitations, but it may allow to bend the criteria a bit

Cobble could be an option if the OP is willing to stay overnight and make a couple of days of it (though Bigwin, referenced above, is a much better option IMO -- no idea how the prices compare, mind you). But there is no other course remotely luxurious in the vicinity of Cobble/Owen Sound/Southampton. The rest are functional, change your shoes in the parking lot, tall boy on the patio after the round, kind of places.

That is fair and I see that, I just feel out of place when some clubs are too luxury if that makes sense. Like when I played Eagles Nest walking in the front doors down to the pro shop I just felt like I didn't belong. But for others they probably prefer that over a shack out back, I like a more relaxed vibe but still nice.

I totally agree with you, FWIW. I dislike and feel uncomfortable around pretentious luxury and obsequious staff. Just let me check in and get going with as little fuss as possible. I'm just fine with courses like Upper Unionville, Trafalgar (RIP), Watson's and Osprey (about to change), which barely have a clubhouse. But the OP wants to treat a buddy to some "luxury", so I was coming at it from that perspective.

you could dine at the "Lake Club" or "Beach Club" within the FH resort. The Nest is about 1.5 hours from Courtice.
                              Stay thirsty...my friends.

You’re right, I’ve been to the Beach Club once and forgot about it.
