Not at the pace of Titleist or Ping, never will be as they are going to stick with 2 release a year, but space them out so its a year between each lines release. BB in the fall, X line in the spring.

They are just trying to take advantage of having decent products out and hit TM while there is a dislike for them right now.

But remember, still the fools that thought a 'Callaway lifestyle' was going to be huge with you wearing Cally everything at the office, home and course. Then after that failed, they turfed 1800 employees, closed up the Canadian offices (compared to what they were) and moved a pile of stuff to Mexico.

They are making decent stuff, but no better then all the other OEM's out there, just TM taking the brunt of the dislike as they have been doing it for 10+ years.

Taylormade must shake their heads when they see people thinking this because it's not new news. If you look back over the last few years, Callaway has had as many or more product lines on the market as Taylormade, with the same yearly refresh rate. I think the TM problem was that they way overestimated demand and flooded the market, so you see their clubs discounted quickly and depreciate more quickly.

As for Callaway though, they are as big in size as TM, and one of the biggest in the world, so why not have multiple product lines. Of all the drivers listed, there's no real duplication as each are targeted to a specific golfer at a varying price level. That way, it's easier to fit a golfer into a particular club, like a black diamond BB for a highly skilled player, an alpha or GBB for a mid capper, a v series for someone wanting more swing speed, etc. Since they have the resources, why not reach as broadly across the market as possible - don't just sell someone a club but give them something that will help them get the most out of their swing...

Another key differentiator is that they don't build so many clubs that they are still selling them 5 years later like TM.

Personally I dont think the quick refresh cycle is the problem, it is the combination of that and the fact that there is wayyyy too much stock. The fact that they have to discount the product to almost nothing to simply move it tarnishes the brand IMO.
