Most PGA guys would give their left nut to improve by that much per round.

      So back to Mizuno talk.

I see that Mizuno has increased their iron shaft length by 1/4”.

For example, for years their 7i was always listed at 36.75”.
This was typically 1/4” shorter than other manufacturers but Mizuno’s measurement is without a grip. I personally find a grip adds 1/8”

The three MP-20 models are now listed longer at 37.0”.
I wonder why they did that ?
1/4” might add maybe 2 yards to a strike ???

+1. I play the MP18 MMCs and would consider swapping out the 4 and 5 iron possibly.

I added the HMB to my long irons and I really like them plus the option for a 2 and 3 iron is great. I like the smaller profile and limited offset combined with a little extra height in the flight.

              FYI: I replaced my MMC 4i with a 818 H1 23 hybrid
I swapped out my MP-18 MMC 5i for an MMC Fli-Hi 5i and it has been a big improvement for me.
So much so I bought another MMC Fli-Hi 5i and 6i for when I reshaft my set over the winter.

As such, I am no longer tempted by the HMB in my 5i and 6i.

At GolfWRX many are gaga over the new MP-20 MMC compared to MP-18 MMC, saying it is even more forgiving and much better feel ( the copper layer ? ). I personally have no feel complaints on my MP-18 MMC irons, and I have 2 sets of them ( Waterloo & Owen Sound locations ).

As I am married to my MMC FLi-Hi 5i & 6i , if I was considering an iron change it would only be for 7-8-9-PW irons. I feel some added forgiveness in my 7i ( 155 yard club ) is beneficial / warranted. But 8-9-PW I expect to deliver clean strikes. Which brings up the question is forgiveness over-rated in the short irons.
I just started a thread here to discuss that:

Thanks for the info ARL67. I checked out GolfWRX to read up on the forums and the members' thoughts on the new Mizuno irons. Lots to ponder.

Who wouldn’t want 1.5 strokes or better per round in the field?

But how did you come to the conclusion that the short hitters are gaining +1.5 strokes due to their accuracy? There are a multitude of variables that affect your scoring average and yet you think lack of length off the tee is the primary reason?

Not sure there is enough proof there to support your claim.
