    Re: cutting driver shaft

Your accuracy will increase in the long run, I would cut it to 45 inches first and it will change by 1 or 2 swing weights.

the shaft will feel a little more rigid as well, but that is expected. I would not just the full 2 inches in one shot as you will no hit it nearly as far and may gain the control you want from just lopping off the 1 inch.

        Re: cutting driver shaft

Just to add to Jeff's points:

Depending on what kick point (KP) your shaft has it will do either the following:
Cutting down High KP shaft will decrease CPM of the shaft. This means that it will feel more "flexible" than before
Cutting down Low KP shaft will increase the CPM of the shaft. This means that it will feel more stout than before.

Also note that when you cut down the shaft, butt diameter might decrease. I know 1" isn't much of a difference but 2" is definitely huge. Make sure you get the right grip considering you don't want to play with undersized grips.

If you have any more questions, here to help.

i hit it higher than my graffaloy proto shaft.

            Re: cutting driver shaft

If its parallel tip, you might consider cutting some off from the tip instead of butt end to lower ball flight.
