  • Cannot play a current model wedge for the life of me??

I've been playing a Nike VR Forged Black wedge for about 10 years.

I've tried finding a wedge since then with the same feel, and I just can't for the life of me find one that looks and feels right.

Is there a reason for this anyone can think of?

I've tried using the same shaft (S400), same length, and still all these newer wedges feel long and head light.

    Is it just me?

Could be swing weight- how long is the hosel on your current wedges - could be a bunch of mass there that your not finding in current models?

Lead tape? I know i went through a wedge dilema a few years ago. I ended up with a fourteen 60deg and a 54deg vokey. Not that helpful i know but you may have to try tons of different brands.

If you can, check the swing weight and total weight of your existing wedge and the newer ones...this will tell you for sure. Also, make sure you are testing clubs with a similar sole grind and bounce....these two factors can have a huge impact on how the clubs perform vs your current one...

Played a Titleist DTR SW for years, (most on here too young to remember those). LOL
Then when I looked for something new, I went through the same troubles as you.
Finally I found another very slightly used DTR SW, so continued with that for a few more years.
Like some have said it is not just the parameters you mention, but a few more as they have already said above so probably more work to be done.

Just curious. . .what do you mean by “looks and feels right”? Help us out here.

are you chunking shots, blading them, shanking????

You could refurb your existing with groove tool, sand the face.
or you can buy the same club used less.

It's not so much any particular shot it's just not solid shots. I can't feel the head throughout the swing which makes things difficult all around.
