  • M3/m5 to Sims. Do u miss adjustability?

Is the head tech inherently better?

    Regrets?

I always had my adjustable TM's (M1-M5) tuned for maximum spin reduction, the most weight mass forward. SIM2 (my current driver) does not allow for this, and I can really feel it is the most forgiving TM I've used...

However, my spin numbers are higher than any of the previous gen drivers w/adjustable weights and hope they bring this feature back in future models.

I'm more consistent and hitting more fairways, but believe I've lost 10-20 yards w/SIM2. I would like the best of both worlds!!

LOL, Yes - Perhaps that's why a few pros (Morikawa, DJ, etc.) have not gone to SIM2...

Both Callaway and Taylormade made a move tthis year to increase spin on their lowest spin heads in an effort to make them more forgiving.

I think the manufacturers intentionally hold back on certain features to give them future places to go with each product cycle. It gives them something new to talk about, in say the next “Sim3” driver which now has “movable weights”. What’s old is new. Over at WRX is a thread on the next TM driver ( all speculation ).

i agree especially when you have 1 year cycles compared to Titleist and Ping.

Adjustable weighting is massively overrated for the avg golfer. The adjustability is best used when buying the club and customizing it. After that, every fitter I’ve ever talked to says “don’t touch it.” Too much tinkering is bad.

besides, SIM2 (which I have and love) is still adjustable with the sleeve and for most, that’s all you need.
