Been hitting my irons really solid lately with my 46* srixon zx7 going 124-125 which has always been pretty standard for myself but lately have noticed I am hitting my 50* vokey considerably shorter like 95-100 yards. I'm pretty sure i've been 'flipping' it and adding loft but not sure why it's only with that club. Contact, dynamic loft, etc. fine with my pw up but get to the 50* and all of a sudden it's not going anywhere. On top of my own mechanics, could shaft also play a part? I love the modus 120s in my irons, maybe having my gap wedge with the same shaft would help with timing? When I hit a partial shots with the 50 it's ok but the second i hit I full swing shot I lose the distance.....weird. Any ideas from anyone?

Do they make a gap gap wedge?
As to why for you, I am not sure but I make better and more consistent contact with a 3/4 swing with a wedge.MEMBER OF THE 2012 AND 2015 RYDER CUP CHAMPS!

My gap wedge is also 50, but it goes the same distance as my 54.
I meant to get the loft checked but then winter came... gotta get it done."Confusion" will be my epitaph

went and had the loft checked on my lunch and it's 50. i'll do some more practicing this week and see if I can figure it out. Think I will try and flight it a bit more and shorten up the backswing to see if I can improve my strike. My previous wedge set up was 47 53 59 which was gapped at modern golf and my numbers were 120 - 100 - 80. This was my first time ever using a gap wedge in my set up and maybe i'm just used to years of playing 3 instead of 4 wedges. Might also be an option to go back to my previous set up if I also hit the 54 (53) the same distance as my gap wedge.Stealth Plus 10.5* w/ Diamana ZF 60s 44.75"

It seems hard to imagine how you (or both of us) could have developed a swing change that would give us a 10(?) yd loss in our 50* but not the other clubs.
