  • Toe down at impact with slightly heely shots

    Hi guys,

Quick question here. Any quick fixes for this one? Do I just set up with the toe more upright so the clubhead is more neutral at impact? Bend the lie angles more upright on my clubs? I do have a tendency to be somewhat steep going into impact, but I am currently working on going into impact more shallow.

Miss is a slight pull to the right (I'm a lefty). If I try to be a little too cute, I'll hook it left, and if I slice it right, it's because I flat out shanked it - again for trying to be a little too cute and experimenting on stuff. The shanks and slices are ultra rare though - it's more the pulls, and slight hooks.

    Thanks!

I forgot to mention that the toe down at impact is seen through GCquad, and the heely shots as evidenced on the clubface

You might be standing a touch too close to the ball. You also might be early extending on downswing which you will have to throw your angles early to save the shot. On backswing feel like your weight is in back heel and transfer to front heal while keeping your butt back along imaginary wall.

        Have you been fitted?

That might be a place to start rather than tinkering/compensating with your swing.

I have been fitted yes. It's funny because my fitter (@ TXG) has even told me that my previous tendency of "standing too close to the ball" (as referenced in one of the last posts - thanks!) is creeping its way back into my life again. Then I laughed and said ok ok.. reset...

Ok soooo stand further away from the ball, and I guess keep my butt to the wall (ala. chair drill). Anything else to add that I can do?
